I started to play in 2014 and bored in 2017 with this game. Then came the Xmas event in 2018, two tanks was my gift (tier 6), and I bought my first premium, WZ-120-1G-FT. Now its over 150+ tanks in the garage. I use normally 3-5 tanks in a day( tier 5-6 and 8-10) depending on daily missions (random battles). In my opinion, tier 7 meds and heavies are dead, because tier 8 heavy premium tanks are too tough. Only 2 tanks in my list which I can play with happy smile ( SU-122-44 and a light scout).Statistic of winning battles per 10 battles in a row daily only ca. 37% for me (never goes over 50%). I'm pretty sure because I am a casual player and I don't care of this paid system. Need a separate historical WW2 server without premium (money) tanks. Battles only with tier 6-7 tanks or 8-9/10-11. Frontline mode is the most I like, just why it is not programmed with tier 5-6-7 after 5 years ?

Reported as misinformation!! 1 month ago I played and there were 18k players on WOT NA, and today there were...18k players...This video states in the first 7 seconds "WOT is loosing 1000s of players every day", and if that was true, there would be hardly any players at all on NA server after 30 days! Why do we still have the same amount of players today as we did 1 month ago if WOT is loosing 1000s of players very day? That would be 300,000 players lost in the last 30 days!! While it's down from around 25k 2 years ago and numbers are going down, they are NOT loosing 1000s of players every single day and this is misinformation!!

I stopped playing after the HD update and HE round changes. it made playing my KV-2 unfun. knocking T6-T8s for anywhere between half to 2/3rds of their hp because I lobbed an HE into a weakspot was a thing of beauty.

I gotta say you summed up most of my problems. I have been playing WoT for 10 years and i quit last year. In parallel i play WT for 9 years now and i gotta say they just care about the game much more. I know there are some frustrating things too like spawncamping etc but they are finding new ways to adress these problems. I hated WoT for having gold ammo.... like you pay more to just have better round in 95% of cases? What kind of mechanic is that. In WT when you use HEAT you most of the time get better penetration but you get terrible spalling. But the biggest problem for me was the grind. I used every single game 50% money booster (without premium account) in like last 2 years to get most of the times mediocre profit without using a single gold round. When i used few i got almost no profit. In my last months of playing WoT i played it only when i could get premium account from missions beacuse it was that unplayable for me. btw i had wr over 51% so nothing extreme but I was more than decent player i would say.

Nothing like spending my money to purchase several tanks or dropping gobs of gold to grind away for reward tanks, only to see them nerfed. Add to that the complication of field mods or bounty and even improved and experimental equip while newbs are playing with standard. Toss in some RNG for ya know, BALANCE and a bunch of bs vehicles that would outclass a modern day M1A2 Abrams. After 40k battles, wot lost it's original appeal of just being fun. I keep updating the game thinking I might play again, then I remember why I quit 3 years ago.

Gold spam made armor obsolete, only russian pamcake tanks work. That's what killed wot for me...

The only major balancing factor the 279 has since it came into the game.

reasons for me: everybody spamming/overusing gold ammo, laser-precise artilery, OP tanks (especially camping 4005 can ruin your game with one shot, that thing should have never existed), wheeled tanks that are faster than WRC racing cars.

I don't play much anymore. After 12 years. I actually think the worst part is gold spam. We used to have to aim our shots. Money never mattered before, everyone was playing with the same tank so it came down to player skill not what upgrades you use or how much RL monet you spent. Create a server where there is no tanks that were created in game after 2016. And remove premium ammo. I would play that all day.

I started playing in 2015 and haven't played since 2017, I re downloaded it last night to check it out again and ive come back to a empty game. I remember the tech trees being filled with lots of tanks and now they are all slimmed down. I used to remember the training rooms were quite lively but those are all dead now it seems.

I really feel like WoT closed itself off and let WT pull ahead by simply staying at tier 10. There's nothing that says it should stop at tier 10! Its just a silly made up unspoken rule to keep it at 10 because it's numerically complete, and that's stupid.

I find making it fun by just going full on and no longer caring about the b.s. that occasionally happens...and shutting off the mail inbox.

I did that mission for 3x HP blocking , blocked over 6K in it , and never going to play it again ! 10K gold well spent.

All I can say after playing WoT for several years is that if you want to ruin your day and your good mood, play a few rounds of this game. If you would like to get rid of your money for frustration, play WoT. Never play this fucking game again.

WT player here. I was wondering. Is premium ammo extremely p2w in certain cases? Is premium ammo nearly like a must to be able to fight efficently against armored tanks?

Coming from a na player the biggest problem js matchmaker. Due to low playerbase we suffer from for years matchmaker in any teir just blows chunks. 1 out of every 30 games you have a decent game otherwise your either shafted or flat out ko the enemy in 3 mins or less. I haven't played much since 2023 cause of the state of the na server and don't have a interest in returning as of yet unless wg does something to wow me in the coming months

The main player base is or was not 16-22 years old but older. By increasing the speed of gameplay, introducing childish content, and holding cash events (which, by the way, are not catered to by the younger audience), the game has abandoned its roots and is now facing the consequences. Notably, the introduction of blueprint tanks feels almost like a scam. Balancing the tanks with the sheer number of vehicles is undoubtedly challenging. However, simple solutions like limiting the number of artillery, scouts, etc., take years or are not implemented at all. Why can't Tier 10 rewards be restricted to Tier 10 only? The 279(e) stands out in Tier 8 battles. The PayToWin factor has risen exorbitantly. I own almost all the premium and reward tanks. Previously, the approach was to boost credits and experience, thus shortening development time without purchasing significant advantages in one-on-one combat. This has changed with tanks like T56, 703II, ELC, LP, Sorp, etc., overshadowing comparable tech tree tanks to the extent that anyone trying to research those lines is usually at a severe disadvantage. A stock Tier 7 or 8 tank is a torture. This imbalance explains the many players who go AFK after 1-2 minutes. With under-researched tech tree "clunkers," they have little impact, so they simply "die upwards." The subpar map design has been a persistent issue for the player base since the introduction of HD maps, yet it is ignored by WG. The desperate push for Crew 2.0, a topic that still lingers, will inevitably reach us sooner or later. Moreover, WG's treatment of its own people speaks volumes, as seen with SirFoch, Motality, etc. The abolition of the forum, in my opinion, has two reasons: Questions about questionable gameplay, beginner questions, etc., often received responses like "learn weak spots," "understand game mechanics," "learn the vision system," and "bla bla bla" mechanics, etc. The forum highlighted problems more sustainably and efficiently. The persistent issues of bots and AFK players, cheats, or illegal mods are topics WG generally avoids or has long officially denied, sanctioning forum posts about them. They celebrated a few ban waves (three times, I believe) without making significant changes. Lastly, the CCs and streamers. During my early years, many used premium ammo almost exclusively. This significantly impacted development, leading to more armour, even more penetration, etc. Few showed their earned credits or losses after an all-HEAT battle. Spending real money helps with this. In Clan Wars, it was normal, but in random battles, it used to be much less frequent; today, it's a must. Before 2017, I often received messages calling me a noob for using "gold" ammo. Today, it's the opposite if you don't use it. The historical touch, the sense of a "tank simulation," was the reason I switched in my early 40s from first-person shooters to a quieter and more tactical game. WG has eroded this over the years. For me, it feels like a horse that is already on the verge of collapse and is simply being ridden to death. It’s still somewhat fun, but it doesn’t feel as good, and I can hardly play for more than 1-2 hours at a stretch. Back to the roots: more tank gameplay, more simulation. Reduce scout impact, dial back the meds a bit, and remove the wheeled vehicles. Overall, reduce the speed a bit.
